A specially designed experience for Youths, Teachers and Schools of the Bay Area featuring world renowned Master Musicians plus members of the Festival’s Youth Orchestra. The Epic Project School Show weaves together prominent symbols, metaphors, and traditional ideals from many of the worlds oldest Epics - from cultures as diverse as Azerbaijan, Burma, China, India, Kyrgyzstan, Spain, Taiwan, Tibet and Uzbekistan. An outgrowth of 15 years of educational programming geared towards the youths of the world, The Epic Project School Show is our Festival’s commitment to building bridges for youths of the Bay Area to experience together the cultures of the world. Each show includes documentary film footage from countries abroad, epic stories incorporating cultural history and folk legends, as well as traditional music of cultures around the world.

A curriculum guide for teachers and students introducing the history, epics and music
of the cultures featured in the performance, plus an educational CD of the music is
available August 1. This guide adheres to the California State Standards for Visual &
Performing Arts, Language Arts, History & Social Studies, Math and Science
